Ok so I have a 2003 Malibu that is going to the junk yard tomorrow and I have a full tank of gas and I was wondering if anybody knows how to remove the fuel from the tank?

Thanks Troy.

Go to the local hardware store and grab a siphon pump, (like 4-5 bucks) then a couple 5 gal gas cans and do work

Most fuel tanks have drain plugs.

Most fuel tanks have drain plugs.

That sounds like a PITA. Go siphon pump

Someone told me that there is a screen where the gas goes in on all the newer cars to stop people from Siphoning the gas out.

Does anybody know if this is true or false?

Go outside and find out, I doubt any of us have experience with '03 Malibu fuel siphoning ;)

Few options.

#1 Drain plug (many cars don't have them)

#2 Stick hose on fuel pressure regulator return, run hose to gas can. Let car idle or make hot wire fuel pump to run all the time and pump it out.

#3 Take drill. Drill hole in bottom of gas tank. Out comes fuel.

The problem with the Drain Plug is that fuel will get everywhere when you open it for one, and secondly having to close it up to switch cans when it gets full. Hence the PITA.

I like number 3, just make sure you use an electric drill that has lots of sparks flying out of it. :)

If its going to the junkyard just stick a pole down there and push through it.

If it's going to a junk yard drill a hole in the tank and drain it.
