When we were up at Uni last summer, we were talking to some bikers and I asked ths guy what he payed for insurance on his Hayabusa, and he is like " What insurance?" If you think about it, you only need insurance if you get pulled over, or dont crash hard enough to kill yourself. Just a thought, few cop cars do 180mph and a 11sec quarter :bounce:

Well get liability if anything, get a bike but make it a used one. best of luck man wish i could get a bike but i could never afford insurance.
Friend of mine is selling a 99 R6 blue/silver/grey in mint condition, with $500 black shoei helmet, for around $5500 total. For $5800 he'd throw in a black large kevlar riding jacket. The bike has just had a new chain and transmission rebuild. Not sure on mileage, but he will check, somewhere around 16000 with the chain and trans just done professionally. It is a mint bike, never dropped, babied from day 1.
let me know if you're interested

I think the bikes tranny should last that long if it was babied ;)
Also if you get a new bike I would get full insurance becuase fairing is hella expensive.

Yamaha had issues with there R6 Tranny's My friend Chad's just had to be rebuilt.
From what I've been told by it's a pretty common thing pre-2002 on R6 Bikes to just have a tranny go bad (usually 2nd gear)

I believe there are also Honda bike dealers down in Rochester and Owatonna if you REALLY want to shop around.
There is Cycle City in Rochester but I strongly recommend staying far away from them as they do not back up anything they've ever quoted you once you step out the door.
