Garage Floor Coatings.

Hey,
Just wanted to hear some reviews of any garage floor coatings products some of you have used.
I am looking to coat my giant garage, Just not sure which product works best. I want to do a epoxy type coating and then put a layer of clear over the top of it to give it an extra shine and also allow me to get a little creative with it.

I did the Rustoleum epoxy floor coating from menards with teh clear coat. I've had it for about 3-4 yrs and apart from dragging transmissions/motors/metal heavy objects on the ground it has held up amazingly, no peeling or flaking or anything bad.

Good price and I used an 18" wide roller so it only took 45 mins to do the job.

I also used the Rustoleum epoxy stuff. Mine turned out like crap in the end. I tried following the steps exactly as I was supposed to but it turned out crappy. Couple areas I think I went wrong were I had an old dirty floor. I prepped it good but I also used some patching compound to fill in cracks/chips. I think I should have let that stuff dry for a lot longer. I think there was still moisture in that stuff, which eventually caused the paint to bubble and peel.

Also some areas looked a little different then others. Maybe I didn't mix the paint as well as I should have.

Brownmans looks real good, so I know it can be done. I think with my 20 year old dirty floor, made my job trickier, and ended up looking like crap. Also I did it in fall when it was starting to get cool out, and wonder if that didn't make it dry/cure/harden as much.

So I guess my advice would be that it can turn out good, but just make sure that floor is as dry as possible, because any moisture that can come up will screw it all up.

Proper preparation is the key for any on the painting products to work as advertised.

The Home Depot/consumer grade stuff works well. We used that in our dyno room and that held up very well for the heavy traffic it received (we used the commercial grade boxes). Be prepared for A LOT of work.
