Ok so, I decided to utilize my 30 day trade in over at WB Mitsubishi. I'm trading in the GTS for a Ralliart and eating the higher monthly payments.

So, in my first post (http://www.mitsustyle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30165) I had some questions about relatively inexpensive ways to increase HP and torque. The general consensus was that this wasn't going to shit for a GTS. Is this now different for the Ralliart?

Post up pics. Its cool that you decided to get a car that has a better platform, congrats!

Yes, much different now :)

Take it to get tuned and you will pick up quite a bit of power.

then after that you can start putting boltons on the car, exhaust first I'd say and then a testpipe and more tuning etc etc.

I guess first question, what kind of money do you have to spend?

edit: congrats on the pickup!

Awesome! The RA is basically a baby Evo. Heck, toss some stock Evo parts on it, give it a tune, and it'll be pretty damn fun.

Here's a comparison between a Ralliart with a full Evo X swap and my Evo X GSR.

Ralliart Mods (at time of dyno as best I can remember)
Stock Catback
Cobb HFC
Cobb Intake
Cobb Turbo Inlet Pipe
Cobb Downpipe
Cobb UICP
Cobb LICP
3 port
Evo X Exhaust Manifold
Evo X Intercooler
Evo X Turbo

Mods on my Evo X GSR:
Specialty-X Catback
Megan Testpipe
AMS Intake
Cobb Downpipe (ceramic coated)
AMS UICP
AMS LICP
GrimmSpeed 3port
Ported Evo X Exhaust Manifold (ceramic coated)
AMS Intercooler
Evo X Turbo
Ported Evo X Intake Manifold

I'm looking for small projects so that I can do them a little bit at a time as I save up the cash. So, I'm looking to spend between $300 and $1500 max on any one item or kit.

A friend of mine also mentioned to me that getting a controller to regulate the turbo's PSI is relatively cheap. What kind of PSI are stock parts going to be able to handle?

The RA has a pretty small single-scroll turbo, so my advice would be to upgrade to a stock Evo X twin-scroll turbo setup which can be had for roughly $600-700 in nice condition. While you're at it, do a Evo X intercooler and pipe set too, this would probably cost you $200-250 for the complete set. Add in a 3-port boost control solenoid and the total comes in around $1000, get AEM's new RA intake for probably $300, plus a testpipe for $150, add in a tune for $300, and you're sitting at $1750 total (roughly). That would be a pretty solid mod list and will put down more power than a stock Evo X for under $2k in mods.

Hell yes! Yea just look for evoX parts and swap them on, those will be your best bang-for-your-buck mods.

A few suggestions?
-come to our fall dyno day (TBA) and get a baseline on it
-boost pill + testpipe first
-Bryan@GST has some baseline maps, if you need help flashing them, LMK :)

Congrates on the RA!

I know this is not the For sale forum but I have a intercooler, boost pill, upper IC pipe, and full exhaust from my stock evo x. PM me if you are interested.
