Anybody got more vids? This event sounds sorta fun but lots of opportunity for stupid ish to happen. Looks like nobody had to wear helmets or anything? What other safety requirements were there?

Depending on the event you did not have to wear a helmet but even with a serious mishap or two (no car on car accidents at all during the event) everyone walked away with out serious injury and in good spirits. The event was absolutely a blast, Chris Carey's words were "best event I have ever participated in"!

If it wasn't on car craft weekend it would have easily been twice as big....next year I guarantee the turn out will be over doubled and as a spectator (who got a ride in BIR Gallardo BTW) I can say just watching really gave me the itch to build a purpose built "power skid" car for next years event!

So my personal plans next year are Proving Grounds then Power Cruise then Forum Wars - all should be full weekend events next year and all will be freaking sweet!

MAP <3's BIR - the facility, the owner, the people all make for great SAFE events that are as good if not better than what all the east coast and west coast guys have had for years. Now its our turn to have some fun amirite?

Heh, actually I stay at my Dad's house in Fridley when I'm back in MN.

And @MAP, thanks for checking on clamps, even though you guys ended up only having 3". I meant to track down Chris to talk to him and I just got distracted then had to leave to meet up with some family for dinner in Baxter.

from the videos, it looks like a great time. Sadly, I haven't been to BIR yet, but going to an event like this would blow my mind.

I would have to agree that the event was a blast and can't wait for it again next year, The cruise was sweet since you could run anything out there head to head with alot of cars.

Hands down the most fun I've had at an automotive event, now don't get me wrong it definitely helped that we weren't hosting it! lol What makes this different is that anyone with any kind of car can hit the road course and have a blast. Even if you don't have a car you can ride with anyone, simply amazing.

Maybe do Forum wars late in the year like late Sept or early Oct for a final run your car before it snows event?

I like this idea. I would have gone to all 3, but A) I couldn't really afford it. B) there wasn't enough time (plus A) in there to get the clutch I toasted at PG replaced for the other two.

I like this idea. Having Forum wars that close to Proving Grounds hurt the attendance of Forum Wars. It would be cool to push Forum Wars closer to the end of the car season. IMO.
