What motor??

Well, i thought I would post this in here cause it really didn't fit anywhere else. Anyway, I am trying to figure out what motor I have in the Talon. I was told it was a JDM engine, and from the looking I have done, it seems like there is at least an EVO 3 intake mani on it. But a guy that came and looked at the car said it was not a JDM engine at all. So I was hoping that maybe someone, with some knowledge could help me out.

2g? guessin off motor mounts

I figured it was at least a 2g cause of the mounts.

Evo 3 engine.

Evo 3 intake manifold, J pipe still turbo (probably evo 16g) and cas sensor.

Well, it does have a 16g turbo but its not a MHI turbo. It looks like an Ebay turbo or something.

So, say this is an actual EVO 3 motor. It does have a bad rod bearing. Would it be a good motor to rebuild. Or would it be better to just take the good parts off and go with another short block.
