ethanol content testers--are the cheap ones accurate enough?

I've heard shane has an expensive ethanol tester, curious what it does vs the cheapies like this one:

Also, any good methods for getting fuel into one of these things w/o spilling or overfilling it?

I have one of the Buschur ones, haven't had a chance to use it yet though. I will say its not really easy getting the water to the correct line. Thinking about buying a turkey baster and a small gas jug to do it with.

they work good. I have one from when I was in tech school. It only goes to 10% content though. turkey baster sounds like a good Idea. I have a secont tube that I would transfer fuel from a gas can into and then slowly pore into the vile.

It's right on the nuts at 70%, though you can't quite tell in the pictures. I'll probably be using this over the course of the summer during my e85 experience. :D

I will say that cheap testers like this are typically pretty good regardless of the application in my experience. For my saltwater aquarium I use manual testers to test a handful of things, you don't always need electronic gadgetry.

Those cheap ones work great. My buddys dad uses one for his drag car he said it is very accurate.

I forgot to mention, when I got tuned we compared this little guy with Shane's fancy pants tester and they came out reading the same thing.

That one's graduation is shit compared to what goodhart has... Will be difficult to know exactly what you have.
