No its not that easy. I would buy the balance shaft stuff, most of the time this is what breaks first and takes out the timing belt.

Plus, if your friend quoted you $200 for a timing belt job and you ask him to remove your oil pump (which includes dropping your oil pan to do it), he will be really really mad at himself for giving you that quote.
