how bad would it be and or differences on eprom

Well since I've been trolling boards, calling shops and carpart sites and have had no luck other than a two week wait on an eBay bid for a 1gb auto eprom ecu, i was wondering what the difference/issues would be if i used a 5spd ecu since they are about half the price and ten times easier to find.

Sweet so it sounds like all i need is a fpr, ecu and a tune from Shane. Sry for the newbie questions but working full time and trying to get the house ready for spring rapes my research time :-/

Thought ECM Tuning guys can convert non-eproms to eprom as well. Another option to consider if you haven't already.
