Was there tonight, got lots of videos and pictures, but to keep it to the point... it's what you guys always wanted University to be. Total mayhem everywhere and cops were ignoring everything. 5 straight hours of burnouts a chick even showed her tits as she was hanging out a sun roof.
I overheard cops talking about when to shut it down and they basically said, ehhh lets keep it going, even with cars doing twice the speed limit. They gave a lot of respect to the people and it seemed like they understood what was happening and why.
Saw a couple FB pics, man that would be so awesome.

Probably the best night at Porky's bar none. Atmosphere was perfect, it was a party in the streets. Onion rings great tasting as always.
Fox 9 was doing a news story there, not sure if that aired or not, but even the news van DID A BURNOUT when it was leaving.
I got to take part in one of the best burnouts I've ever been in. Dueling trucks went at it for at least a minute, it was smokey to the point to where you couldn't see 1' in front of you, and I was 15+' away from the action.
As Shawn said, its everything you wished it was, and nothing more. The officers of the law were around the area, you knew they were, but their presence wasn't felt or heard.
It was also a great time running into old friends. University will not be the same, I've heard rumors about people trying to make the Sonic in Bloomington the "new spot"

I was there too, it was honestly the most surreal thing I've ever seen... complete burnout warfare with the cops understanding the nature of what I'd consider the last hurrah of University.
LOL@ Shawn.... "SUBARU! wop wop wop squeeeek"

WoW! I have never seen porky's like that before. People need to get pictures up.
Just wondering is tonight going to be like last night. I will for sure be down there then lighting it up with the dually truck if so!
Just to note something on the shutdown of porky's, the paper said that Episcopal homes bought the property. They have more to do with the shut down of porky's then people are letting on. It has Little to do with the light rail project planned. When talking with them, they told me that they have been trying to buy the place for years so that they could tear it down because it is too noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. It is disturbing the older people. Last night was a good showing of middle finger to them!
It is just so sad. Porky's was there first, Episcopal homes moved in and now shuts the place down. When they were doing the planning, they should have figured they are going to be next to a drive in that has hot rods.

And I'm guessing they bought a few local politicians to help expedite the process as well.
