I took the motor out of the car cause I sold the tranny and I thought it would be good to check out the bearing. The oil pan hasn't been off in 3 and a half years and would have been the 4th season on it.
OEM crank (GSR)
ACL race bearings
Manley turbo tuff rods
3 pass seasons.
830whp 2010 lots of passes at the track and a few runs on the street. rev limiter 9600 rpm
660whp 2009 1 pass at the track (and I got hooked) and alot on the street. rev limiter 9400 rpm
645whp 2008 4 sets of drag radials from racing on the streets. rev limiter 9400 rpm
I was just real suprised that I put this thing together and its living! I will be replacing the rod bearing this year hoping to go faster at the track!

Impressive, I had no idea you built it yourself. Had that bearing been making noise or something?

BUILT NOT BOUGHT!
Nate, where do I get VC like that?
Bearing looks barely broken in. Nice work, and what tranny is going in now?

Badass. Just swapping out the rod bearings or you doing the mains too? Re-ring it while its apart or just let'r buck?

Doing rings is completely diff. from throwing new bearings in quick.

Time to do more work this year!

Yeah the only things I dont do is tune it and machine work. No just checking them cause new bearing and oil pan gasket are 50 buck and new rods, crank, gaskets, and bearings are about 1500 bucks.

Yeah the rods really take the beating so just replacing them and leaving the rest of the motor alone.

Nice gearset, helical cut and syncros still so it will shift nice on the street but beefier.
VC, I meant where can I get one of those Built not Bought Valve covers? ;)
