i am currently lookin to buy a new car and i have found a nice bmw. It has alot of miles in my opinoin, 167k, Just kind of wondering the pros and cons of a 328i. If any one has any input, it would be apriciated! thanks

The inline 6's are pretty bullet proof. I would check suspension out, ball joints, control arms, etc and the tranny.

Do alot of research on E36's online and the trouble spots before you buy. I had a 95 M3, sold it with 130k and it ran great.

yea its got alot of miles on it is the only thing that is stoppin me car looks great

If it's maintained it will run for a very long time, but with mileage like that you are going to have to start replacing wear items such as what Peter suggested. I'd be wary of the transmission and rear end being leak free as well.

yea i didnt know if the bms had good trannys and rear end moslty what i was worried about

If its a 5 speed and shifts well, thats good, otherwise the clutch is the only thing Id worry about.

Variable timing, its like vtec. Yea that can get really noisy and rattley if its wearing out. Its not too bad to replace, I replaced the gears on my M3, you have to take the camshafts out.. but it wasnt horrible.

so really no huge issues like crank walk or the trans goin to shit easly
