I can easily justify spending $990 on my turbo, regardless of how minimal the power gains are.
Talk to the EVO guys... they would go ghey for a turbo that cheap.

Doesn't the HTA68 flow about the same a stock evo 9 turbo?

No idea, but I would want to assume the HTA68 flows better than the IX, considering the HTA68 has a HTA wheel.
It might not have better top end but the mid-range has to be 15-20whp better for sure...

+1, single pump and a set of 1000's would be dandy.
My dream DSM:

Air Conditioning that works
Power Steering that works
Radiator that keeps it cool no matter what
Canadian seat belts (delete silly auto belts)
ported 2G exhaust manifold
OEM Evo3 16g
ported 2G o2 housing
Thermal catback exhaust! Or maybe buschur 3"
Supra SMIC w/ custom end-tanks
Custom LICP/UICP
Some sort of SMIM w/ stock N/A TB
Single walbro, rewired
ID 1000cc/FIC 1100cc injectors
Evo8 ECU w/ speed density conversion
GSC S2 cams w/ beehive springs&stock evo retainers
Ported 2G head w/ L19 studs
6-bolt 4GCS (2.4L) bottom-end w/ manly i-beam or MAP UD rods & JE pistons
ACT 6-puck clutch
Shep fresh 2G trans & front LSD
aluminum driveshaft
leak-free xfer case & rear diff (4-bolt)
Evo Brembo brakes w/ ss lines & ultra blue fluid
Rear sway, all strut tower bars
Koni/eibach suspension
Evo9 wheels w/ appropriate rubber for summer
stock 1Gb talon wheels w/ general snow tires for winter
No gauges
Nice stereo w/ a nice 10" sub
Bitches in the back seat
Project Option: tubular exhaust mani to fit an stock twin-scroll evo9 turbo on a DSM, possibly upgrade to a BBK Full or BBK-B down the road.

Scheides hit the nail on the head with that list. I'd go with an FMIC instead of an SMIC due to the extra heat you'd see from the 16G on a 2.4L, but I can appreciate the sleeper logic.

If he is running E85 he wouldn't have to worry about that.

Man! I keep trying to get rid of my SC61, but everytime I make a few other changes to the setup and redyno it makes more power. It makes more than what half of the guys that come in with billet 62 and billet 67 setups end up making.
But you know what you are doing...that is a big plus, lol.
Most people slap together a bunch of parts and pray it works.

I have been building it if the evo 3 counts.
