so I am looking at trading my car for a few things, but the guy asked me if it is possible just to put my 1g motor into a 2g, i guess i'm not very familiar with it, but will the 1g ECU work with the 2g harness?

No, the harnesses and ECU's are totally different. You can put a 1G motor in a 2G car though, do a search on any of the DSM boards, it's a super common swap.
