Maybe permanently? If the people that post there were half as active and 1/5 as passionate about cars in the rest of the forum, we'd be overrun with awesome posts. Instead people post page-long facts, opinions, and generally just generally disobey the only rule: be nice!

So, goodbye politics. Post more links to Jalopnik if you get bored please. It's the middle of winter and the last thing I want to hear about is politics. If you want to discuss politics on this forum, you must pretend you are speaking to your grandmother about it. Otherwise, keep your opinions to yourself.

Seriously, the focus of this forum is cars! I'll bring back this section when everyone that posts in it regularly posts at least 5 updates to their own project threads.

If you didn't like that section, why did you two read it? No one forced you to read those threads, just like no one forced you to comment on my POS car thread. :P

I'm with Pete on this one. You KNOW what you are getting into when you went into that section. If you didn't want to see any of it, don't go there.

I very rarely visited that section, but the mere existence of it always spilled political overtones into other threads and comments in general. I'm not on a car forum to hear about others political beliefs, if I wanted that, I'd be on a forum for such a thing. It just doesn't(didn't) bring a good feeling to visiting the site honestly.

I'm glad you made the decision Scheides, it's a good one. Thank you.

Never knew it was there so I guess I won't miss it.

The same thing happened to NABR long ago, it draws me in for a little bit then gives me a headache.

The "If you don't like it don't read it" argument only works when you're not talking to the guy who has to moderate all of that crap. Scheides has every right to get rid of that section if he wants, and I don't blame him for doing so.
