Up for sale is my shortblock off my 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4. A little background info on it - it came out of my VR-4 in November, because I parked the car for the season, and decided to go bigger. Originally I had planned to use the block again and push it, but I'm probably just going to go forged and buy a different shortblock to work with.
Prior to being pulled, compression was 155 -155 -155 - 154 (I compression tested it at Primo back in August). I made 388WHP on 25PSI with my 20G towards the end of my season.
Block looked as if it had been (cannot confirm) rebuilt previously. My VR-4 used to be owned by my older brother, who drove it maybe 3K in the 2 years he owned it. When he bought it, the car had an Archer Racing decal on the back, and the PO said he had "some" work done. Since I bought it, I have put a total of 5K on the car, and always cared for the motor meticulously.
Stock rods, pistons, standard bore, balance shafts are out. Bearings had acceptable/normal wear (check below) and piston rings sealed great. Will include oil pan, oil pump, front case, pulleys, and etc. I did clean the block, mask it off, and paint it Duplicolor Ford Gray, the deck surface has been cleaned off lightly and is ready for an OEM organic style gasket.
As it sits now, the motor is on a stand, crank/pistons/rods/etc installed, pan, front case, and etc off.
I am asking $350 or best offer. Can toss in a good 1G head minus cams for $100.
