As the title says, need to take my crank pulley off. ASAP.

Thanks!

Are you talking about the pulley for the timing belt? Because for that one you can take out the end bolt then take the crank pully for alt/ac and turn it around and grab some smaller bolts and put them in the holes and slowly tighten them all at the same time and it will start to pull the timing belt pulley off of the crank.

I've used an impact to take it off before, just an idea...

yeah. I tried my impact, no go... I need something to hold it still while I get it loose.

Any other tips on that?

So I have a question, could I rotate all hte camshafts (timing belt is off) so that all the valves are closed, then put a breaker bar on the crank pulley and bump the starter?

if you have the oil pan off you could stick a peice of wood between the block and counterweight. otherwise throw it in 5th gear with the tires on the ground and then try.

The big center bolt does not hold the crank pulley on, the 4 m8x1.25 bolts do. The crank bolt holds the timing belt cog on. You can try the in gear/breaks/tires on the gound but that is hard on the clutch disk. I recommend using a better impact, I have both my big 1/2" air and electric impacts at home, give me a shout if you need me to stop by.

I actually didn't end up needing to remove it. squeezed the water pump in from the top. I built a tool and it broke fromt he torque I was applying. Built another one, broket hat one too. Gave up.
