I almost forgot to add that it's well known in the DSM world that autos are incredibly strong. And that with an IPT built auto, you're pretty much not going to break it with power.

To the OP, not everyone needs an auto, there are a ton of people on stock trans. that make more power than u will hit in a DSM also if you have to do the work to switch to an auto it wouldn't be worth it.

If you need a center diff, I have one available. If u need to keep it on the cheap get it welded.

FWD compared to AWD, I give the FWD big respect look at 4G63tcrazy his car is awesome, I think he put down less power and we ran on teh highway his car would fly even while spinning although he wasn't even on DRs or slicks.

I would say if you do FWD prepare to run DRs or a decent tire not just some random shit that you can get away with when using AWD.

RWD>AWD because you can do burnouts easier

Aaron, I agree with you that FWD as less drivetrain loss and is lighter weight. It shouldn't have been much of a surprise that FWD with less power beat you on the freeway. In highway runs, pretty much all that matters is power:weight. (traction is irrelevant 100+)

how is traction irrelevent? i just see it pointless to be buying tires to put on your front every moth because you cant keep from blowing the tires off the line.. im not bashing on anyones car im just saying spinning from a roll may be cool for a while, untill you go thru a couple sets of tires, and also i dont really concider going for a roll a race, only from a dig, i would like to see a fwd dsm beat a awd dsm from a dig.. if im wrong prove me wrong.. but traction is everything in racing you sound stupid saying its not even in drifting traction is key

You're actually the one that sounds stupid. I said 100+ at 100 almost every car should have traction no matter the tire. Hell Nate hooks at 110 with almost thread showing 2nd hand tires from Jeff Bobby and Steve's. But here you go writing a whole paragraph on something taken out of context. :jackoff:

And since I know from chat you're going to mention starting at 100 and that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying no matter where you start from you'll have it by 100.

by the time you "have it" by 100 the awd will already be in 5th doing 140.. and if your going to be going that fast on a highway your a dumb ass

Misinformation about what? That a FWD can be fast then an AWD? or that it will corner better then an awd?

quote from another site
"technically fwd is better then rwd in tight and slow corners since it has most of the weight over the front where as a rwd has verry little weight bias, the fwd car can handbrake turn without lowering the engine speed much and on some occasions doesnt require clutching in at all where as a rwd must (an awd may or may not be able to do this depending on the type of center dif), on slow corners the fwd can enter at a higher speed and just lift off for extra grip and lift off oversteer while if the rwd car were to try the same thing it'd spin"

obviously awd all around is a better way to go but as a daily driver cornering at lower speed a fwd is technically better. And a higher speeds say over 100mps on a straight line a fwd car should beat an equally powered awd car. Misinformation my ass!
What in the hell? Since when do you use a handbrake or clutch when racing around a corner? THAT is misinformation, and you need to stop spreading it.

Take a gander at the current 14b (he moved up to a 16g) record holding dsm. its an Automatic and FWD. I believe he is in the 9s now, from a dig.
