$50 million in tax dollars for cooking stoves in 3rd world countries. More wasting of your tax dollars by your government. :angryfire:

Yep, cooking smoke is a real threat to our environment. Leave it to the dems to find yet another way to waste money on something totally stupid.

You should write Hillary. Tell her your car is damaging the environment and if you breathe in the fumes from the exhaust, it may cause lung cancer. Maybe hillary will buy you an evo.

If you want this analogy to be in a closer perspective, Hillary would be buying you a McLaren F1.

Wow, Glad to see someone is actually putting money towards ACTUALLY HELPING PEOPLE instead of blowing them up. 50 million that could save 1.5 million lives a year. I dont call that worthless spending. Its less an issue of global warming as it is women and children dying of smoke inhalation and CO2 Poisening.

How bout helping ourselves first before pissing it away on the rest of the world. Am I the only one that thinks the "1.5 million" number is a bit inflated also?

Those people aren't even in our own nation. We can't even get our own ducks in a row, what makes you think helping the world first is a good idea? :angryfire:

Help ourselves? and how do you help someone that doesnt want your help? This administration has been TRYING to help since day one. but every bill they try to pass through gets so damn watered down that it does very little and people get pissed off about it. i.e. public option, etc.
Its a lot easier helping other countrys because they are actually grateful for our help. And it also boost the overall outlook towards our country in the eyes of the world. Telling them we are actually trying to help, not just sit here and invade other countrys for the hell of it.

Come on guys. Maybe Tom is right. Maybe it's a great idea to spend money that we don't have just to get a warm fuzzy feeling about ourselves. Maybe someday these 3rd world countries will enter the 20th century and actually start paying back some of the billions and billions of dollars that have been spent on them over the past 3 decades. Helping others is fine, assuming you can maintain your own first.
