View Full Version : How Did You Meet Some Of Your Local Dsm Friends?
Well it's pretty common for cars guys and girls to meet up for whatever reason and non car friendships sometime start from there. Tell your stories if your up to it.
For me it all started with MIAC and Barton (as always) having doors open for those interested in cars and chilling. Went over one day with my old GST and I have never been the same since. LOL Also met Nash there as well and in a way we have been pretty close friends for a while. Helping eachother out with alot of shit that has nothing to do with cars at times. Later on I met up with Mark and the same thing happened. I also met Jet through buying a part for Jana's car, Andy Young, Craig, Mike, and well the list actually goes on from there. I know quite a few of the locals here and many on a pretty decent non car friendship level.
So what about you?

I met Rickey (JiNMaximus) when I started going out with Miranda's (Miranda) sister. Then I met Tom (tpunx99gsx) and Kiel (JDM) one night at Uni when Rickey and Miranda decided to go, me and Kel just tagged along.

Met Chris Monasco in High School. Went to RF with him and CVD. Decided I needed a DSM. The rest is history.
All because of AJ and his addiction..... but I'm glad. I've met some really cool friends because of it. :D

Browsed the web, remember meeting Barton and Tyler at RF. Signed up for miac and then it went downhill from there as spending money for the damn cars inflated to make me as poor as I am today :(

It all started with Swanny showing me University. Then I joined MIAC and well I am here.
But I joined DSMTalk.com before MIAC and I was a member on Midwest DSM.org

Well it all goes back to when Allan (DSMStyle) was putting the "Scorchers" on his DSM. We met at Heynga's House of Oriental Massage (you know, the good kind) and got the "Super Clean Special with the Hot Wax option". That's where Allan & I met Jana (DSMChick) who had the best hands in the place. Oh yeah Jana, I remember it well. From there we went to Raptor's (Mike) place of business (We Can Weld Your ASS Shut Too, Inc.) to check out some hot parts Mike had (don't worry Mike, I think the statute of limitations has passed now). Allan fell in love with the red scorchers and had to have them. I tried to talk him out of them by telling him they would haunt him the rest of his life, especially if a pic got out onto the internet. But he wouldn't listen. Ever since then, we've been tight like a condom on John Holmes. ;)

lol, Mike, you always have the best stories. :D
Why don't you tell us really how you ended up in these neck of the woods, or how you've met any of your local group (if there is one) ;)

haha, well the only person on here I really know is Austin (IndiEP). I met him in 6th grade i think it was, when he moved to Maple Grove and was in my class. Been one of my best friends ever since. And I think he fell in love with DSM's the day we made the ghetto intake for my 2g outta milk jugs and stolen air filters!

Well it all started when my dad met my mom, then things kinda worked out and they got married, then on one hot and steamy night........................, ooops, you mean when I found DSMStyle. Well one day I saw my first DSM. A '97 Spyder with the 2.4L. Had to have it and got it. After a while I missed the power and potential of a turbo. I had owned an '88 Lebaron 2.2L turbo which was fun to tinker with. So then I went on the hunt for my GSX. Found one up there in MN. After finding the car and driving it back 19 hrs I decided to try and do some research online about the mods that could be done to it and stumbled across DSMStyle in one of it's earlier formats. I've been here ever since and have talked to and met some really great people. Not one minutes regrets about being here. Some of you are almost like family. :grouphug:
