And a upgraded valve body, tranny cooler and manual shift controller also I'm sure.

Aaron might now, since he's got an auto now

Yeah. I was only told about the converter and shiftbox for my Talon by a guy who said they can run 10's pretty easily.. But for the car in the video I'm sure it would require those as well.

They have upgrades clutches in them and run 100% clutch pressure, upgraded cooler of course, tuned torque converter.

I will be going auto myself aswell.

Yeah, the torque converter is key I'm sure.

Tq converter, full line pressure, end clutch's and a big ass cooler. My auto trans should be here later next week. I'll be making a build up thread on it and share my results. :)

I didn't read back but until you pass 400whp thru the auto there really isn't much to worry about, I'd say brad, santa and maybe blackrose are the only people that need to worry about the auto.

I'm staying slow so I'm rocking a stock auto

Autos are good for the 1/8 mile, but if you run the 1/4 and make some real power you'll run out of engine before you run out of track.

If you watch the first video you'll see he's well into third gear by the end of the 1/8 mile. Check out the night time in car camera and you'll see he's about to bury the tach again in 3rd gear before he let's out. Only shift left would be OD. Add another 1/8th mile to it and you run out of gears. So unless you are building a really high revving 2.0L you'll be hitting your rev limit before you reach the traps. I've read where people look for taller tires, etc., to help keep the rpm down.

Those cars are all doing 150-160 in the 1/4 running high 8's No problem shifting into od(4th). Thats why the end clutch is a necessary upgrade. I rev my car to 8500rpm, and if need be I'll rev to 9000rpm on my 2.3. You'll want a bigger displacement motor for the auto just for the shear reason you'll need the lower end tq to get up onto the converter to launch. Most of these auto guys are using nitrous to get on the converter and then shut the nitrous off before they run down the track. I'm hoping to not need the nitrous!!
