Bought a BM Transmission from him previously owned by x1genx. I helped x1genx install it into his FWD and drove the car. It is/was a great shifting transmission and wanted to buy it at the time but never had the chance.
I thought this was my second chance.

As the Add went:

Im selling a 91 FWD BM Race Transmission. I bought the tranny from x1genx about 2 or so years ago to put into my 98 GST. The tranny has been sitting in my garage since I bought it from him. I never put it in the my GST because the car has also been sitting. Tranny has 35k on it, and is still in awesome condition.

Specs:

BM LSD
double-synchro 2nd gear
steel shift rails
billet aluminum shift forks
all new gears
all new synchros
all new bearings

Basically everything that can be done to a FWD tranny, it was their full race-built package. It is a 1991 tranny, and only Redline MT-90(2qts) and Redline MTL(1qt) were ever used in it. You will not find a better shifting or feeling DSM transmission, period. This transmission was far better than the Shep and TRE trannys. The original owner of the tranny was Kracka and has helped me with the specs when he bought it. Tranny will work with other 1g FWD DSMs with the help from Raxles to make custom axles... and it is possible to put in a 2g, I just never got around to it.

When I bought it I thought it was never broken open and recently I found out that it was opened and parts (shift forks) were taken out of the transmission.

I will open the transmission to verify if parts have been switch or not but the fact now that I have to guess is very irritating

BKs50trimGST hasn't replied back to me to verify but if he did take parts, but told me at the time it hasn't been opened, i don't expect him to reply back.

I am just getting tired of buying stuff from people only to find out that they are lying, selling junk, and they take the money and run...

I wonder if that was Kracka's old tranny? Sorry to hear about the missinformation.

At least when I sold you the Summit you knew you were buying junk :D

I didn't even know that guy was still on these forums anymore. IIRC he lives in minnetonka?

That was Kracka's old tranny. It has been passed down a couple of people.

The scummit isn't junk! I have tried to kill that 1.5 motor in many occasions (for an excuse to do an engine swap) and it still won't die!

Like I said before, I am going to have to open the transmission up and see whats going on... I will post what I find.

This is my old transmission and really makes to sad to hear it was pulled apart :( It should have BM billet aluminum shift forks in it so it will be very obvious right away if he swapped parts.

Keep us posted and we'll do what we can to help you.

Unless the guy who sold it to you learned a bit about cars the past few years, I doubt HE pulled it apart and swapped them out. I met him once a few years ago to sell him an upper i/c pipe and I ended up installing it for him. Didn't seem like he had much mechanical experience at that time.

So taking off just the first cover, I don't think it was taken apart. I was going to take it all apart but it looks like the nuts that hold on the gears have been crushed to hold them on. So if parts have been taken out, the transmission was installed by someone who knew what they were doing.

Someone is going to have to tell me if that looks like a stock fork because I haven't ripped into too many transmissions before and have nothing to compare it to.

I am no expert, but that sure doesn't look like a billet shift fork.

It should look more on the lines of this:

Yup looks like some sort of OEM fork to me. But is that just the 5th/rev fork? Maybe only the 1/2 and 3/4 forks are billet??

with the nut crushed like that, should I take it apart further to find out?
