Just wanted to join in on the bench racing, am I not allowed?

And as far as a 500hp evo being able to hit 10's, of course it should be able to. Might not happen on the first couple attempts as it may take awhile to learn to drive it into the 10's, but for sure it should be able to. Took me 3 trips to the track, and a bunch of low 11's before I finally got my 10. And mine was at Brainerd which I feel had a little better prep than RF did. I got a 10.9 but my car should be hitting mid 10's since I'm trapping around 135.

Yea you can join, lol. Just a few people kept saying they were going to run 10's like I was crazy or something. Like I said, probably no chance my first time, i hope to be in the 11's after getting used to everything then the 10's are my next goal.

Do you still have your car Halon? You should come up there with us.

What you're not seeing is that he went to the track 3x before he got ONE 10.x run and then when we were at BIR for the map event he was running all over the place due to shifting and other issues. Walk the walk, then talk the talk, I say :) I've barely began crawling....

I was on my way to a test day when my motor went down.

I look forward to getting booted out of the track and throwing my entry fee out the window, lol :) That would make me happy.

It would be cool to do a black vs black and we both get the boot on the same run...man the epicness!

I hope even my noob ass can hit a 10, otherwise I'm gonna see if Ron wants to try my car for a run or two to see what it can really do.

See these two posts? That's what prompted this discussion, and the sentiment you kinda continue to carry in your posts. I'm not hating/mad/putting you down, if you run fast more power to ya. Later you kinda backtrack:

Scheides, I fully do not expect to run a 10 the first time out, I would be happy in the low 12's with the power I expect my car to make.

But you keeeeeeep on talking about running 10's like it's nice and easy. Just run what you run and be happy, that is what this thread is all about :) Please take the actual bench racing elsewhere, this thread is NOT ABOUT BENCH RACING it is about ACTUALLY RACING...but for bench racers and newbs, like you and me :)

No need to get butthurt, just need to start a thread that's more on topic, that's all :)

So, I'll continue this benchracing discussion. If I ran 13.1-13.3@106mph on the old stock turbo setup, and I'm running the BBX with a nice 6-puck now, what do you think I should run now?

I'm hoping to get a downpipe on the car by the time I get to the drag track next, so maybe I'll have a little more power to get me to my next goal. I just need to decide realistically what it is? 12.8@111?

I'd think the BBX on pump with practice is good for at least mid 12's, but who knows...i am no expert.

While I agree with scheides on stop being PRO bench racers and just worry about learning shit, I must say 500whp at DB is some serious fucking power. I hope it shows my language.

My car prob. made 370@DB at most on teh 16G (Only setup I got solid numbers on)

It took me a 2 times at the track with no issues to get my times from 12.0 to 11.7. There is a lot to learn about the car when you are drag racing.

Also I agree with scheides about talking about 10s like its nothing, Halon spent years building that clean DSM and diff. setups to get where he did. While you guys will for sure have the power to do it, whether you can or not in your first 2-3 outings is another thing.

All I was getting at was the car has to be capable of a 10 first, then step two is lots of practice and driver mod. Yes a 10 isn't easy, but with the power I hope to make it is doable, that is my point.

Like I said, 10 is my goal, my car is now basically a drag setup anyway, and I will learn...and if i still need more power, 35r kit will go on over winter :)

Ps. I have seen people with dom 2's (much smaller turbo than a black) running low 11's at the track that was there first time out...so I guess I don't see the X's weight as a huge deal, nor the gearing.
