I have an SC61 with a turbonetics T3 manifold. Thing is, when the wastegate mounts right off the #1 runner it won't clear the hood on a 1g, so I will need to make an EWG adapter pipe to angle the EWG to clear the hood. I also have a 5 bolt turbine housing on my turbo like the picture below, so I will need a custom o2 housing (Unless someone here has a link to one that isn't an Ebay peice of junk, because I couldn't find one anywhere)

So, here are my options:

Option 1: Custom o2 housing with custom WG adapter. ( EWG mounted on manifold)
* Is it bad to block off the wastegate opening on the turbine housing with a solid plate as the base for the O2 housing? This is one of my main concerns...

Pros: already have all the main parts, flanges included.
Cons: not much room, kind of a complicated setup, one extra WG gasket to leak.

Option 2: Custom o2 housing with EWG off o2 housing similar to this (http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?p=2060810) (post #5), and get an FP Race with T3 adapter plate (already have one)

Pros: Simpler design, would take up less room due to not having an adapter pipe for the EWG.
Cons: Don't have an FP Manifold, one more T3 turbo gasket to leak.

Pretty sure I will be dumping the WG to atmosphere also.

Also, has anyone here used one of these turbine housings? I have looked at ATP's site and it looks like they don't sell them anymore. This could be a third option, to have the wastegate and dumptube mounted right on the turbine housing, would take up the least room, the only problem would be finding the correct casting to fit my turbine wheel/CHRA.

Pro: least piping, most room
Con: not even sure if ATP makes a turbine housing the right size

Any pro's/con's I may be missing here?

Do the EWG off of the 02 housing! Works perfect for me and boost is perfect across the board.

Anyone else? Shane? any of the OG's? I am leaning towards doing #2...

I've never done a T3 setup so I'm not going to vote. If it was my car, I'd do option 1. I hate those damn adapter plates.

Your Hahn turbo was a T3 ;)

Option 1.

1

Any specific reason why?

On my DSM I ran the wg off the o2 housing on the 3076 and on the e316g. It worked perfect, and held boost solid all the way to red line with both turbos.

Either way. At high boost on E85 it shouldn't matter much. The AMS Evo kits do it like option #2 using the 5-bolt Ford style T3 exhaust housing with an O2 housing mounted wastegate. Their kit doesn't control boost worth a crap when you get into the bigger turbos like the 6262 and 6765. Often you have to set the revlimiter low on pump gas because the boost creep is so bad and if you try to pull timing to get rid of the knock from boost creep then it boost creeps even worse.
