In typical DSM-Style fashion a thread with a controversy in it was locked. Unfortunately, I still had a question on the issue. You say to use email if we want something to be private...but I am guessing that you guys will also monitor any out-going emails sent by clicking the "email" button. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I was also hoping the thread to remain open as through both of my posts, I tried to stay as clear and calm as possible in order to prevent rough debates developing, but instead, encouraging constructive discussion.

Agreed. Besides for my post about The Man coming after me, I too kept it on a professional level.

after reading about the PM's I went through and started Deleting everything. Not that I had anything to say but I'd been talking about pricing with shops. And I didn't think they'd like if there price's were revealed.
Sucks, I liked useing PM's cause if I use Email I have a chance of my work catching me. And Like I said some shops probably don't like to have there pricing/ conversations posted in public.
Also sucks cause I'd talked with several poeple about there Mod list's and what not in reference for the MN 1/4 Mayhem. Which means it wasn't kept Confidential.
But in hindsite I think I'm actually going to read the rules sometime that way I know what's going on. Cause I had no idea PM's were actually public.
No see this is a whole differant subjet and honestly the other thread was for a differant use.
The software comes with board logs that the admin team uses to monitor sections. Here is a breakdown:
Admin logs - for all movement and activities by an admin member
Moderator logs - same as above but for mods/leads/ect
Bot logs - gives details on all the "bots" out there that hit the site. Google and such.
Warn logs - never used so not sure what it really does
E-mail logs - It shows all outgoing e-mail from members of the site to another member of the site. It does include evertyhing in the e-mail, but we have had less than 20 e-mails go out from that feature thus it really has no need for moderation at this point.
Those are all standard board features.

See Brian, that's what's intended for the PMs. Do you think we go through every PM to see who's charging what? Nope. Thats using the feature that way it's designed. Those are not the PMs we worry about. There are thousands of PMs sotred and we in no way have the time, will, or need to monitor all of them.
So....is there a way to make the Email feature direct? I dont use the email feature (and I assume others dont) because it goes through the site. I'd be just as well off using a PM. If I could reveal my email adress to others, and in turn have other's email adresses revealed to me via the site (by choice only of course) I would use it more often.
