just getting ready to put my car back together after the turbo bolts decided to loosen up and 2 snapped. was curious if anyone knows of a good way to secure the bolts so this won't happen again. i was thinkin just red loctite, but i don't think it will survive the temps. or maybe safety tie them all togther ( have a few friends that race bikes). any ideas would help, cause in a few weeks i will no longer have access to a garage and this wouldn't be fun in the parking lot when it's 10 below zero :headache:

Get some new 95+ turbo bolt washers. Put 2 on each bolt.

I have something I am working on that will cure this. If you want, I can fab you up a "pre production" piece. It will for sure solve the problem.

buy all new bolts and find the tq. spec. touque them down then loosen them then tourque them one more time and leave them that worked for me...that is on a 14b with a 2g exhaust manifold btw...
good lock washers should solve the loosenning, the turbo bolts aren't the only one's that are put under stress of heat and cooling. All others that i have seen only have used lock washers. My truck's turbo only uses that as well.
Now the only thing i could see that could be an issue is the metal thebolts are maid of, if their thermal characteristics make it expand/stretch at a different rate than the cast iron of the turbo, which means we all would need to get new bolts to match our hot side of the turbo material...
food for the mind.

I will make some parts this next week and get a hold of you. Should work out very well. When they are made and on you car, we can post some pictures so everyone knows what I am talking about.
