Well I found out that I have to put in new main bearing so out came the motor and the tran. But now I can clean up the engine bay and so on. I will up date when ever I can.

Considering that the motor is hanging from an engine hoist and the car is on jack stands as opposed to a lift, I think it is safe to assume it was lifted out of the car.

Yes it came out the topside and it was not that bad.

I have pulled my engine I think 4 times and I have always dropped it out the bottom.

If you've got a lift, out the bottom would be easy. If not, it would be pretty difficult.

I did it without a lift twice and still dropped it out the bottom, once without a engine lift even. I didnt have the head on once.

That's crazy that someone drilled through the wiring harness like that. Make sure you inspect all those wires!
