has anyone done it? i was just wondering what all would be involved. i think it would make for a nice little daily. i was thinking of picking up a n/t in my area with a nice body and the thought crossed my mind. i know a lot of you will think that its a worthless waste of time but i dont really care. just tossin around idea's for a fun little project. hell if its not too bad i might go all out with an itb setup

The mirage guys swap to 2.4 sohc n/a's it is 2x the power over the 1.5 that 90% of mirages came with. Also all 96-99 spyder gs's came with the 2.4 sohc engine.

Wasn't there a thread asking this same question on here months ago?

the 2.4 with a DOHC is a common build. There is a lot of info around for how to do that.

short story, if you are using the 6 bolt 4g64 block, you would need aftermarket pistons that would lower the compression. if you would use the stock pistons you would get a 12:1 compression ratio.

You would also need a DOHC 4g64 timing belt and cam gears.

Hmmm, with a little E85 that sounds like an easy way to hang with those pesky Hondas in the "stock" class short track racing.

an N/A 12:1 2.4L would be sweet to toss in a FWD dsm for a hornet car...
