I'm having a problem with the outer cv boot popping off the cup, after about 100miles of driving. The car is a 95 eclipse, that was a gs-t that I converted to awd. I bought a 95 parts car and used every part that was on that car. I checked around and made sure that the intermediate shaft that I had got from that parts car was the right one. That seems to be right. I know the hanger bearing (the hanger bearing seems to be good on the current one) is different for 97-99. But, I don't know if the length is any different. The axle is a re-man from oreillies. The car is lowered. The front end is tight. There is nothing rubbing the boot or anything like that. The clamp stay's on the boot. The boot just slips off and all the grease comes out.
So, what I've come up with so far is:
A: The axle boot that is on the re-man axle looks like they are putting the small part of the boot to far away from the joint. It looks stretched out just sitting straight.
B: The 97-99 intermediate shaft is needed from some reason or another?
C: The car is sitting to low and putting a funny angle on the joint.
Please any idea's would be helpful.
