I would think with a solid tranny and a roadsurge shift box it would be pretty sweet. your going to want to have some kind of buttons or paddles on the wheel so you arnt holding onto a box in one hand. Look up my how to thread on here, it explains a little more

Honestly, you're starting in first and shifting to second. As long as you're locking the car in second it won't drive any differently than a manual, save for the gearing.

There are a number of C Prepared cars that run them. (CP= American muscle going around corners, fun to watch!)
How ever, I ran the numbers and the gearing kinda sucks... 45mph in 1st and 82mph in second (no converter slip in that calc) (assuming I ran the number right). But if you ran a high stall convertor it would act a bit like a CVT.

There are plenty of cars that run automatics in autocross, it's just not the preferred platform. Just leave it in 2nd and let her buck.
