Ok, after test driving one and listening from people who own one and riding in one.. i think i'm sold on a 2004 TDI Jetta

Its 100hp 177tq 38mph city 48 highway. 730 miles / tank.

The soul purpose of this car is saving money. My monthly payment would be around 300.

Now anyone that works for a VW dealer or know someone that i could save a few $$ and give them the comission?

cant get you a deal, but my dad has one and i must say, while it is very slow, you cant beat the milage and its very comfortable and pretty afordable. good choice.

I can probably get you a '03 with low miles and save you several grand, maybe more. The largest depreciation is when you drive a new car off the lot.

I would much rather buy new if/when I can afford it. You know exactly how the car was treated and broken-in in since day 1, which to me is very important to the car's life IMO.

The next car I buy will be brand new. I have done the used car thing over and over and when money permits, I am going to drive a car home with only enough miles on it to get it on and off the trucks and into the dealership someday. Just so I can call it mine, and all mine!

Thing is with the vw TDI i know that engine can go 300k miles without too many issues. and still be making 30+ miles / galon...

That car i will be most likely keeping for a long time just for the fact that it will be manual and 4 door plus the body of it is good.. galvanized etc etc....

I like their simple and usefull design. It might be leather but i'm not sure.. i don't like leather interiors, but theirs is pretty nice.

The shifter was oh sooo smooth.
