I have heard of it, and im more-so scared, that it will happen easier on mine, being all aluminum.
I do not drive a omghighhp car..
Like who? Why don't you share since the seem to know all these people.

Ok, calm down Aaron. Get off your high horse, and join the rest of us down here. Do a little research, you'll find it. Tcases blowing are a common occurance for anyone putting their drivetrain through hell. I just want to make that a less common occurance.

It would make me feel better to have one
but which one would happen first?
destroy the internals of the transfer case, destroy transmission, or both before the mounts break?

Mitsu actually designed a fix for this. Do a search for GST :)

Why are you even worried about this happening? It's like you're building a track car that will never see the track. And no, like Aaron, I have not seen transfer cases exploding.

Ok, keep your bantering for the swifty threads please. I asked a question. Answer it, or GTFO.

Fair enough! If anyone actually knows anything, please chime in. I think whether or not its worth it for 99.9% of dsms is firmly established. :)

Anyone know of a place that sells a brace for the transfer case?
I do not know of a place that makes them, have never seen them sold anywhere.
I found this pic, and was wondering if it's just homemade or what? It looks homemade to me.
Ideas?
When you get slicks and track the car regularly then you may have a legitimate interest in reinforcing the transfer case. Until then I believe you should worry about other things that will matter more with your car.

I'm not on any high horse, just because I am making a valid point of
1. I haven't heard of anyone doing this, 10sec 600-700whp DSMs not destroying Tcases.
2. You trying to get your car ready for god knows what since you haven't even run a damn 11 or 12 in a DSM.
From what I understand about drivetrain breakages in general is that the flex in the drivetrain is what can put a lot of pressure on teh drivetrain even at moderate powers, considering a similar design is used in the evo and 3S its safe to say that the 3S chassis/drivetrain undergoes a lot of stress/flex I just met a 3S guy that split his trans thru 2 cases.
While its easy to pick on you, I am not trying to do that here, I am trying to figure out why this would be needed, if you would provide the examples that you seem to know about I would like to see what is exactly happening and what these people are doing, why?
I have a DSM too and I hate when my shit breaks whether it be a few hours or maybe even a day or two.
