I get grumpy when asshats join the car scene because of that movie.
That movie completely ruined the car scene.

I agree. After the first one came there was an explosion of rice. I mean, it was everywhere....It really did affect the scene in a negative way. For the people like us who really take this stuff in a more serious manner than making your car the lowest, most obnoxious thing on the road it really made us look bad. I'm glad the amount of rice I see is dying down..Or maybe that's just because it's winter haha.

Let's think back to all the ricer trends that started once the first movie came out.

Altezza lights
Underbodies
Body kits
Chrome EVERYTHING
Big wings
Big wheels
L.E.D. lighting where they don't belong
Gaudy shift knobs
Obnoxious paint colors
Graphics
Painted interior
VTEC stickers

I know there's more....hmmmm

This isn't the first time car racing has been over-moviefied. Think Two Lane Blacktop, American Graffitti, Heart Like a Wheel. It happens, the scene recovers and we're all still stuck with our $1500 jalopies.

and black. Power Rangers my friend...Power Rangers was the bomb before FAF. lol.

Ever since FAF1, the scene has popped enormously. But now, I'm seeing more and more cars that are "cleaner" and more "nice" looking than it was. The ones that put the body kits on and neon-flavored colored cars are the ones that THINK they know what is "teh awesome". But...it's all about preference.

Nothin wrong with black wire loom covers. And wtf does power rangers have to do with the FAF movies?

You know what? This will decimate all... after we put about fifteen grand or more under the hood. If we have to, overnight some parts from Japan.

Fix.t :beach:

Its not that its over moviefied, its that it brought a whole load of douchebaggery to the scene. "Car guys" are no longer guys that love to wrench and learn about cars, they are now the people that can go the fastest and spend the most money, no one seems to care about the homemade cars anymore, most owners have no clue what they have on their cars, people just recite internet horseshit and think because they have 100s of hours on net reading about their car they are on their way to being an awesome tech.
The list goes on, and while to those that don't know me, I do not think that I am awesome at working on cars, but I know that I love to learn about it and I love power no matter what it is in, V8, 6, 4, rotary, domestic or import if its clean, unique or makes some decent power I'm interested.
My only lack is in race cars, maybe I haven't gotten there yet.

wow i talk a lot when I'm bored.
