If the motor dies so will your oil pressure. Check for fuel and spark, do a compression test, etc.

lost oil pressure and drove off the highway so like 3 mins of no oil pressure before it died

No oil press will toast the bottom end really fast

You lost oil pressure and continued driving for 3 mins? When oil pressure drops you need to shut off the engine immediately if you want any chance of it surviving.

If the wire that goes to the filter housing, is the one that actually reads oil pressure, then it will say it doesn't have any if not connected....could be a coincidence that it won't start, or your motor could be toast.

unless this constantly happens and you dont believe in the stocker at all.

Yup, especially if it gets oily, that little wire can even be hooked up and not get a solid reading up to the factory gauge.

I assumed you were using an aftermarket gauge. The stock gauge is pretty much worthless, the low oil pressure warning light is generally pretty trusty though.
