Just came across this thread:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-x-dyno-results/464719-evo-x-ets-hta86-91-octane-mustang-dyno.html

And it donned on me that you have a COP setup on your car; did you/shane try a stock (or known good/working) ignition?

Thanks for the info sound like I am having the same problem. Ill look in to it this week end.

I feal like thats how my car is. But im using stock coils. Jim was talking to me about this too. He said he upgraded his and it was a night and day difference.

Night and day for my situation. I made a little over 430hp at DB on E85. I don't think the coils added any peak HP but they really cleaned up some part throttle and other small driveability issues I was starting to have. Also my car starts a bit easier in the winter and doesn't buck or stutter like it used to for the first mile of cold winter driving on the COP setup. Its undeniable that these COP setups add a stronger spark, but do you need it? With his 35r setup and the fuel changes that would need to go into that, I would think its a worthwhile investment

Well I did a compression and leak down tests and it was good on all 4 cylinder. Now I need to do a boost leak test. Iam still at a lost on why I am so far off on power for my set up. Would a bad turbo do this or a bad wastegate spring or BOV spring.

You should be able to tell if the bov spring is bad during the boost leak test. If its bad it should push open once you put boost to it.

It shouldn't be a wastegate spring if you said you guys were able to keep turning the boost up. Wastegate spring would really deal with boost and not power so much.

I would have to guess there would be a huge boost leak if the compression and leak down test checked out normal. Try and do the boost leak test to as much boost you want to run on the street/dyno. Sometimes boost leaks don't pop up until 20psi+.

Good luck and post up what happens with the boost leak test.

Will do thanks and I am boosting 23lbs

Who did the tests and what were the results (the actual numbers)?

Last summer DoughtCom had a mis-diagnosed leakdown test, and found his lost power in bad valvetrain (had the whole thing gone through, I don't recall what it was specifically, a bad valve seat or something).

I have a list of everything I did on my car at home, I'll post it up for ya.

Ok here's all of the stuff I did to find my missing 60whp on my evo:

-swap BOV's
-lifter broke/rocker loose NOPE
-compression test 170 165 165 175 NOPE
-boost leak at TB (fixed)
-boost leaking past turbo bearings (nope, replaced turbo and ALL gaskets, lines, washers, etc)
-map averaging makes dyno goofy (boost was holding fine; not the problem)
-compression test @ DB: 165 165 163 172
-leakdown @ DB: 13% 9% 8% 2%
-Pull ALL IC piping and FMIC, clean, inspect for blockage. (FMIC inlet was veeery slightly dented, one coupler seemed to end up off-center connecting FMIC & LICP)
-Upgrade BR Deluxe FMIC to RACE FMIC & custom LICP (i.e. fix kinks in piping, nothing major?)
-valve gunkage somewhere? (did some fuel system cleaner)

I think that's everything...then power was back at spring dyno day at DB...anyone that was there must have thought I was insane, my car made ~370whp on pump and ~395whp on alky and was PUKING coolant....headgasket was gone (again), re-used ARP studs during HG job the previous fall apparently couldn't deal with the new-found power....ended up going through the head: AMS/TMS L19 headstuds, valve-job, valve seals, porting, phenolic spacer IM gasket, blah blah blah the car ran like a top for a few days, then immediately back to Shane@DB to confirm all was well and for two full pump and pump/alky tunes.

In the end, I made FOUR trips to the dyno and the car went from ~300whp (when it pulled in originally for baseline just before BBK turbo) up to 330whp (on the IX turbo, with some shane tuning time), up to ~350whp (on BBK and some more tuning) and then up to 395whp (BBK, at spring dyno day) to 432whp at the end of June when all was said and done.

Oh, and right when I had to do the (second) HG job, I realized that my brake pads and stock rotors were DONE and did a full brake job. If the car had needed a clutch or anything else for the rest of the summer, I probably would have started going back to church. Thankfully, I had plenty of time for reflection during all of this.

Good luck man, keep us up to date!

My compression test was 155 155 160 160.

Fine numbers. How did the leakdown go? Mine went fine, dispite being down on power. DoughtCom's car was hissing out the exhaust pipe IIRC.

Well I found out part of what the deal was. My idler pulley was bad and my power steering pulley feels bad to as in there is a lot of side to side motion. That was were the noise was coming from. I made a leak down tester last night and will do that to day after work.
