While I think wearing your seltbelt is always a good plan... Having the law enforcing it on adults is lame. Were big kids now we should be able to make decisions for ourselves and not have big brother telling us what to do for every little thing.

I'd much rather have the other occupants of the vehicle I'm driving wear their seat belts, lap belt and all. Better they stay in the same position of sitting than be flying all around the interior of the car injuring everyone else and possibly through the window(s) hurting someone else outside of the vehicle.
Yes, it sucks that you got a ticket. Totally agree.
But if a seat belt helps save money, lives, and insurance costs, just wear it. And hell, with the 1Gs you're halfway there since the car does it for you!

just wear the belt and dont bitch about it. It is the law.
I could get the wife on here and have story time about people that did not wear there belts (works for plymouth pd) or I could get storys from Ali's dad and all the people he has scraped up with a shovel and in to a hefty bag off the street's (retired fire chief for mlps)
But if you dont like your life then dont wear it and stay the hell off the roads then. I hate to be late to work

we seen 16 cops and hwy patrols
Im already on probation for a fel flee and still have to pay that + a fine i had prior in Ramsey for $400 + no job or license
I believe that wherein your seat belt is your choice it shouldn't be regulated by our government its just another way to make money off of the starved economy
So, at what point do you realize that your not wearing your belt and you have already seen 16 squads? No thought in your head says maybe I should put it on to avoid being pulled over and ticketed?
You have a fel flee... maybe try and follow the rules. You still haven't figured it out after that?
And the government is trying to watch out for the insurance companies. And after years of research they have some how figured out that seat belts are a good thing in vehicles and help prevent deaths.
Find another shoulder to cry on, your the one who screwed up. Man up.

Go take a long look in the mirror. Sounds like you brought all these problems and fines upon yourself.

Two of my best friends were in front of me on the way to another bar one night, I had to turn around and pick up another friend. When I came back I saw a ton of flashing lights and the road was closed, had to find a different route. Two days later I got a call from my friend in that car ahead of us, turned out they were hit head on by a drunk driver, both of them had crushed legs, pelvis, arms, shoulders and a ton of cuts and bruises, both almost died. They would have been much better off had they worn their seatbelts and they both wear them religiously to this day, I've worn mine ever since as well.
One more story. My best friend at the time pulled out of a parking lot on a snowy day, his wife was wearing her seatbelt, he wasn't. He slid too far and got hit by a semi head on. He was killed instantly, his wife right beside him barely got a scratch. His seatbelt probably wouldn't have helped him much in this case, but wouldn't you rather play it safe?

As a Firefighter/EMT I've seen a few pretty nasty wrecks. I've personaly seen the effects of seat belt vs. non-seat belt. Even in small bumper rub collisions, having a belt on can make the difference in having a bad day and having months/years of recovery. It doesnt take anymore time to put it on and if its adjusted properly you dont even know its there. And it may save your life.

It was a good thing when I was younger cause I never wore seat belts.
SOunds like you have a lot of things going on, get rid of the DSM and sort out your life.
Kracka's post says pretty much everything else.
