Ok, there is an ecu for sale but its out of an awd eclipse..

are the fwd ecu's and awd ecu's different?

What should i look for in the 2g ecu's.. and i'm sure the local electronics wiz could probably fix it anyways..

Im sure Lightning knows more then I do, so maybe he will chime in. I think on the 2g's the only differance is the AWD does not have a speed limiter.

just make sure its a eprom, if only thing like he said is the FWD have limters but that don't matter if your going to run dsmlink anyways cuz it will fix that.

I can't imagine any difference, but I'm not entirely sure.Supposably the only difference is the speed limiter, but some AWDs have it too.

ok, i have an oportunity to buy a dsmlink 1 for 590 with ecu... or ecu for 200 plus then dsmlink2 for 600 ..

so should i risk it and get the ecu with the dsmlink?

I don't know much about dsmlink but personally, I would not want an ecu that someone has already been F-ing around with. Who soldered the soccet in? Did they use acid core as they didn't know what they are doing, etc. You would want to upgrade to version 2 anyhow. I would just buy it new myself. I think NSANE on here is trying to arrange a group buy on here for dsmlink. PM him.

To use DSMLink you need a 1995 EPROM ECU. Only 95s had the EPROM. FWD or AWD doesn't matter.

Get DSMLink v2

It's $50 to upgrade to DSMLink V2, if you have a legit copy of V1.

yeah hence why i wouldn't mind buying the v1
