I also got skunked. Im going back out friday and trying a different part of the property. I just picked up my alys deer from the processor. She killed her first deer with her bow a few weeks ago.

Nice Bucks!

Thanks!

I had a nice 9 pointer under my stand on Saturday morning but smaller than everything I have on the wall so I let it walk. My dad ended up shooting it. Havent seen anything but does.

Definitely never heard of that. At least not in the zone we hunt. I know lots of 4 and 6 points have been taken off of my uncles land over the years

Thats an odd rule, but I did just check it out, in zone 3 I guess you have to have 4points on one side atleast in order to take it. Weird.

It was the slowest opener for our group yet, hunting way up by bigfork. The numbers are way down in general up there but it was very cold, snowy and windy.

Despite that I saw 3 deer - First I only saw a glimpse of the first day, shot a bigger spike buck the 2nd yesterday - pretty crazy shot off into some evergreens barely had chance to react as I saw it walking into an opening. Saw another 4 point buck, had it in my crosshairs for 20 seconds, but let it go today as I was ground stalking while someone else used my stand.

Between 4 of us, im the only one to get one, my dad saw one behind his stand yesterday, otherwise 2 other guys saw nothing.

Yeah thats my zone... I thought it was the whole state, sorry, my fault on that. Its actually a nice rule in my eyes. We do a lot of deer management in my area and never take a buck without 4 points on one side or if the antlers are not outside the ears unless its your first deer or first buck at least. As far as does go, if its brown, its down. We try to get as much meat as we can for the winter.

Wierd. I'm in 227, so it's almost always intensive harvest, which is basically kill everything.

I hunt in 276. We have to apply for doe permits but we were too late getting our licenses. So with no doe permits that meant anything with antlers was going down
