ok i have been trying to figure out what this is, and i have searched a little bit of everywhere online. But as my car is warming up and at around 98-115 degrees. I get my knock sensor cel going off on my dash. After it warms up it goes away. I have the cel set to the standard 5 degrees of knock before it goes off on the dsm link. and its like a short burst of knock usually because i let off the gas.

anyone have any idea? im pretty sure its not a good thing. lol. It just doesnt make sense what could cause it. i took out my plugs yesterday and they were a little on the white side, so i must be running kinda lean. But other that that i dont even know where to begin. any help or possible ideas are appreciated

Get a wideband, you will know if you're lean then.

The little bit of knock before it warms up is pretty normal. As long as it goes away once it up to operating temp.

thats what i was hoping to hear. and i got a wideband, it stays pretty much in the middle. But im not to worried about that, doesnt seem to be too bad. But like 6 degrees of knock only at 2500-2900rpms during warm up is normal? could it be a tuning issue by chance?

It's hard to tell by looking at your plugs if you're running lean or not since they only gauge the last few seconds of run time. So like if you do a pull then drive to a parking lot and check your plugs, they won't really tell you anything about the pull.

i get what you mean. Well i mean everything looks normal on the logs i took. Just when the coolant temp is at 100-110 degrees i get spikes of knock that are very brief and i can really feel it. I dunno its just really annoying. Would like to fix it, but not really sure where to start.

What the heck does 'in the middle' mean? Sounds more like you have one of those useless AFR gauges that hooks to the stock narrowband o2 sensor.

My 1G would always show knock like crazy until it was warmed up pretty good. I believe it was probably lifter tick.

you got that one. Im not sure if its the stock narrow one tho. I have to double check i mean it was in the car when i got it. But a lifter huh?
