Quite an impressive gain; that is, if they timed it to at least the 4th decimal place.

That's the difference between running a 13 and a 12 though :D

I guess I haven't noticed a track that goes to the 4th decimal place, so probably not.

Yeah, and that's why my wife's Escort is so fast & stops so quickly, especially compared to my heavy Eclipse.

It's called power to wieght ratio, not wieght ratio

I never said JMF was better. Just added that the cast manifold would be heavier. Then you got butthurt, then I got butthurt

I'm a freak when it comes to lowering the wieght of my cars. A little here and there adds up fast.

power to weight ratio, really, 5 pounds, you talking a difference of .01 change in ratio. .02 if your only running 300 hp. also assuming 3000 pound car.

i think the added reliability for 5 pounds would be worth it, even more for those running n2o

plus the chances of it getting damaged would be for less for a cast unit

Like I said, I never said one was better than the other. OP asked for thoughts on the cast mani and I said it was heavier, big deal.

Like I also said earlier, wieght ads up. 5lbs here 10 lbs there. Less work for your engine to accellerate, also less stress on your drivetrain. Less work for your brakes to stop you too.

I am in no way trying to steer anybody away from running a cast mani.

With a direct port setup you'd be less likely to kill an intake plenum with a N2O backfire anyways :D

Dsm's never have nitrous back fires.

The thing is kinda ugly and it'd be cool to see a comparison between this and a jmf

Especially when they forget to turn the nitrous bottle on for the 1st pull
