Gc Coiloverw W/illumina

Is this how the front coilover should sit on the shock? The rear coilovers had an angled bottom so they sat right up against the shock.

I think all 4 of mine had a Notch at the bottom so they matched with the Shock?


I could be wrong about the fronts. But for sure my rears are cause I've had to replace my AGX's 3 times in the last 2 years.

You did get the GC's made for the Illumina's, right? If not, that could be a problem.

what front upper mount are you using? if you went with GC and still haven't installed them, you should seriously consider returning them and getting pillow-ball mounts from RRE. When turning with the suspension lowered/compressed at all there is side load on the shock shaft which over time can kill the seals from wear on the shaft. You need a front upper mount that allows the shock shaft to move to different angles rather than just straight up. I've gone through one Koni already and you can clearly see the wear on the shock shaft. With GC upper mounts you are essentially trying to bend the shock shaft to the side when lowered and turning

Yes those are the GC made for the Ill's. They where Jana's that she bought from Elite, but never got to put them on the car.

if you didnt get new front upper mounts, or got ground control front upper mounts, you are best off ordering spherical bearing upper mounts from RRE

just forget droping it and sell me the shocks and sell the coilovers to Tom.. he is looking for them anyways!!!
