that dont make scense how you can judge him for being a dumb ass when we have all done this
Just because everyone has been stupid doesn't make it not stupid. I've gone 120 in a car on the public roads and 130+ on the bike on back roads in southern WI/MN. I wouldn't do that today, regardless of the law.
I've got a loud, expensive Evo and I've been passed by more than one Prius on 35E because the speed limit through St Paul is 45 mph. I don't make the laws and 10 over is enough for me 99% of the time.
There are a lot of good reasons for owning things that you don't "need," whether everyone understands it or not.

I've gone 135mph (eclipse) and 125mph (dodge daytona). I definitely wouldn't drive that fast on public roads anymore.
And driving fast is not as fun as going to the track and really try the car's potential with the turns, braking, acceleration, etc. I'm hooked after that track day in BIR. I would like to build a track car one of these days. Not sure what kind yet but those open wheel Fx cars would be fun.

+1. The first thing the guys at work ask is "how fast did you go?" It doesn't seem like a relevant question to me...I slowed down on the straights to the let the faster guys go by. The fun is in the turns.
Now I find myself looking at options as well...a second car for a daily driver so that I can be impractical with the Evo. Not sure what I'm gonna do.

That's the same question I got from my friends too. I slowed down too and let them pass when faster cars were behind me. The fastest I hit on the banked area was 105mph or so.
Yeah, I've been browsing lately just to see what's possible out there for track cars. Either build one that is a street car and mod it for track or just save and get one that is all track built. LOL! Nice to just browse too anyway even though it will take me some time to get to it.
I did get a second car for winter (saw your post). I bought one last year and traded it in this year for a Honda Fit (my daily driver and winter car - going to get snow tires for it on steelies). 40mpg doesn't hurt with my 40-55K miles per year.
^^^ We are also considering a track car, several ideas have passed though our heads but the current cars are doing quite well. James is going to take mine (blue car) to the track tomorrow with the corvette club. Also going to Mid America Motorplex (Iowa) next weekend with both cars for Sat and Sun.
It is definitly fun. We may build another car with another buddy of ours so the 3 of us can split the cost. You two may want to do similar ;)

Mach 1.2 in the back of an F-15. My E-Penis is much larger than all of yours.

Fastest I have gone is ~100 and the rear seemed to be sliding around so I got off it. Top actual speed is hard to determine by looking at the spedo as the track likes to spin a bit at higher speeds. I was on fresh snow on a studded XCSP700.
