My clutch is slip so I want to throw in a new clutch before the end of the year and make one more trip to the track.

With that being said what clutches have you guys have had good luck with or have heard of people having good luck with?

The clutch has to be able to take a beating and still hold, allow me to shift quickly at 8k, and be able to handle 500+awtq. Thats about it really, the car seems like it is slowly turning into a little less of a street car so I would rather learn to re-drive the car and have a clutch that will hold and take abuse rather than a clutch that will slip again after 30 passes.

I'm really looking at the Quater Master twin disc but thats a lot of money for a broke ass like me, so I'm open to other suggestions.

Again just any opinions or review of a clutch that will hold the power will help.

Thanks!

I'm not making near the power you are, but I have about 2500 miles on my competetion stage 4, and so far I love it. Engages pretty smoothly, but it can get kinda chattery if you release it too slow, and it launches beautifully. With your power, it might be at the upper limits of that clutch's holding power though.

I've heard the PTT twin disk is the one to buy. The owner of PTT used to work at QM and left and improved their design.

It's a lot of money, but I think you are looking at a twin disk to meet your needs.

I have the ACT 2900 with a sprung 6 puck and it seems to be holding my power great. MB1-XXG6 is the part number and holds 595 ft lbs for tq.

I have the competition clutch stage 4 in my car currently, it has been a great clutch but if it slips on a hard 1-2 shift I don't think it'll hold a hard launch

I know the PTT one uses thinner disc's and have read some people have had problems with slipping them a little too much and the discs act up. I do have to try and do a little more searching but it seems so far that I haven't found any bad reviews for the quater master while I've found a few not so hot reviews on the ptt.

Hmmmm, that would be nice and a lot cheaper. I've read that people experience the clutch dragging at higher rpm's with the 2900, have you experienced anything like that?

Honestly, I think the most budget way to do it is a 2900/6puck, but your slave and master cyl's better be upto par!

^dude, note the power he is making.

What exactly to you mean by clutch drag? I guess I have not had this problem if I have no idea what it is.
