Winona people? Who is that? Starting to get interested. Brainerd is 5hrs away for me but if more people from here are going, I'd possibly go!
I guess I read the swifty thread wrong. Rau said swifty would be helping him this weekend and it looks like Nightjoker7 on here (winona) planned on going as well. I though he said he will have a few Winona people going.

We're leaving tomorrow night so we can be there all day Saturday and Sunday. We are racing in the outlaw class and Rau is racing in the Pro Outlaw class, should be some decent 4 cylinder representation at the Muscle Car Shootout ;)
Good luck. I will have to check the car out.

Come check out the drags. Motor is pulled yesterday to check it over, and make sure things are still good. Car is back together. And, Rau/etc is on their way right now to the track. I'll be up there tomorrow evening to get settled/sorted out, and begin the weekend fun/drinking. Hope to see you MAP guys there!

Are they pretty picky for tech inspection for street cars at BIR? I would expect to run a 12.0 at the very slowest. I'm mainly asking because I have my battery in the trunk, but I don't have a shutoff switch on it. It is mounted good with 2 3/8" bolts, and it is covered -- I have it under where the spare tire goes (right in front of the washer fluid bottle) and it's covered with a diamond plate aluminum sheet.

You plan on camping there or getting a hotel? How much does it cost? If we decide to do the road course Saturday and Sunday, we might consider staying the night so we don't need to leave at 5am to get there on time. We will probably take John's viper and my honda so we can brings some crap. Might decide to bring my viper also if I can get it ready.

I'm camping in Brent's pit area with him, his dad, beth, his kid, my gf, and his other crew chief.
As for tech, I was told it is like 3 1/2 hours to pass through it, but then again I also tihnk that depends on how "serious" of a car it is, times you expect to run, etc. However, given the weekend that it is, I'd say tech won't be lenient on rules. I suggest you get a NHRA sealed batt box, and a cut off switch. I'm still sorting out things, like that on my car, so we will see if I run the talon or not. I can't decide if I'll be too busy helping out to worry about running my car.

What was wrong with the way the battery and cutoff switch were done before? I thought they were done right. They were done the way we were told to before. Rules change?

Well, I got a new NHRA battery box in place of that marine box you guys had. And, the switch is ok, but I'm trying to do a more push-pull type setup, as removing the plate and trying to get that handle on the switch is hard, since the switch isn't too terribly secure. But, I most likely won't be running the car, nor will I worry about that switch yet.

All of that stuff including the box was from Summitt. Should of been a racing compatible box unless they sent the wrong box to us or something.
