I need someone who can drill a perfect hole and ez out in a few shots. Ummmm unless anyone else has a better idea.

Pretty much a manifold stud that goes into the head NEEDS to come out... The nut got stripped and then I tried cutting the nut off and it became one with the stud and now its like one big head of a bolt that's mushroomed. Help anyone? :(

Get a drill bit that is as big or slightly bigger than the stud and start drilling. Once you get to the surface of the manifold the outside of it will just fall off then you can use a vice grip to take the stud out once the manifold is off.

When I worked at a shop I saw a guy weld on a nut and then use a ratchet on that. Worked like a charm.

Welding seems like a good option. If you need to you could use our mig.

For me, welding a nut on and then screwing it out has always been the best & most reliable option.

Nothing to do but just start drilling! Mark and his dad came over once with some diamond tipped bits, it took a while but they got me out of a similar situation, IM side though. Plus they work for cash and beer, always a plus....but you gotta make it worth their while if you know what I mean....you know, like the difference between peanut butter and jam...

I would go back to the cutting method and try with a dremel or a cutting wheel on a die grinder. I don't think you can get a cutoff wheel in there. A smaller wheel like a dremel will cut without the fusing like a larger wheel which must have been tried first.

The hard part about drilling now is starting the bit with the rounded head. Would need to try a center punch but would be hard to center it.
