Well I have the DSM Link and I just got the EPROM ECU, now I just have to put the two together. I just don't wanna screw either up while installing. So I guess I was questioning anybody who has done it themselves and has any pointers or things to watch out for

got any pics of it ... close up of the ecu?? need to see if it is the proper socket... if it is.. just pop the old one out & push the new one in slow & with even pressure. Make sure the pins go in straight & don't bend oh and be sure you ground yourself before touching the board or chip.

Don't you have to cut the stock one out and solder the dsm link chip into it though?

No "cutting" involved. It's de-soldering and soldering. There are a few pages on DSMlink’s site, take a look at them. There are special tools required.

Depends on if it has a socket already... mine did :) .. all I had to do was pop the chip out & pop the new one in :)

Well I wish mine was socketed like that, I saw those sockets on ebay for like 5 bucks. I think i might just play it safe and send it to the guys at ecm link. And I was looking on the website trying to find a place where it showed you how to socket it in and I couldn't find anything that was showed any details
