Last night at about 2 AM I drove through what had to be a record mayfly or flying ant hatch/swarm. It took me about an hour today to get all the bugs off the windshield and bumper. Don't even get me started on the crusty crispies I hosed out from under the hood. The airbox gets opened up tomorrow for a good filter cleaning; I'll probably find the Ant Farm from Hell in there.

For about 10 minutes on 100 it looked like I was driving through a snowstorm.

About time for the May fly hatch. Those things can get really bad sometimes, there's always a week or two when the mosquitoes hatch in mass around here that just PISSES me off. Kinda mixed up this year, i love global warming.

There's a ton of mayflies out at the airport too. Last night I was driving a belt loader (mobile conveyor belt that loads the luggage onto the planes) outside and one of the little bastards flew up my nose.

Hughes, are they a bitch to get out of that clear bra? I'd think they would be.

White cars in general are a pain, though. I know bugs just fuse to mine. Good thing I work at a car wash! :D

nothing was worse then my cherokee classic when your driving a moving box/square all bugs gravitate to you and every single one sticks

Do you guys keep a good coat of wax on your cars? Mine is never really hard to clean up and notice on other cars at work that if you have good wax on, the bugs usually come right off.

I always keep my cars waxed, but after 2,000+ miles and a week outdoors (roadtrips) they're pretty dried and baked on by the sun. If anything, they're probably easier to clean off from the clear bra but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference compared to cleaning off the paint. I have a special bug remover sponge that does a decent job.

Meh, at least you weren't on a motorcycle.

You'd be picking them out of your teeth instead of off your hood
