Suckfest 1999 :( Sorry man. My 1G was carelessly broken into in a similar fashion and it was tough to deal with; is it so hard to pop a trunk release and use a simple screwdriver? Fuking retards.

Oh... and they left my baseball bat in the trunk, so hopefully the day will come when I can give them various broken body parts.

did the police take finger prints of the baseball bat?

Update:

Insurance will be issuing me a check co-signed to either my bank or a shop I choose. I need to probably find a shop that will let me get the parts, so if anyone knows of one they've worked with that would be awesome.

I plan on doing the following:

1.) Used Trunk Lid, debadged back-end (no more UK badging)
2.) Used Evo VIII Spoiler with a fresh clear coat at body shop.
3.) New JDM rear bumper painted at shop.
4.) All body panels fixed.
5.) CF SE Style Front Splitter.
6.) All stereo equipment replaced, upgrade to 12" though.
7.) Screen redesigned so it's easily removable with new HDMI 8" screen.
8.) Car alarm installed, still looking into this.

From Primo
1.) Powder coated wheels, still deciding on color.

From DB
1.) Rebuilt 6spd transmission.

Additional
1.) New mini battery
2.) Evo Floor mats

This Summer: New Turbo

I've used Hopkins Auto Body twice now, and they were willing to do the JDM rear end on my car this last time, which I ended up passing on due to the increased wait time that would have resulted. I don't think they'd have any issue using parts you've picked up since they aren't dealing with your insurance directly.

I've used LaMettry's for both the GLI and the EvoX, one of the writers/managers there is on MNaudi, his name is Brandon: 612.205.6219. Tell him you know me, he's helped me do stuff on the side or whatever, trunklid on the X and such. Make sure to tell him you know me; he'll at least be able to help price some stuff!

Racheal (rosey's girlfriend's dad) works there too, he does body work. I'm trying to sweet talk the paint guy with beer every time I go but it doesn't seem to get a ton cheaper; good paint is expensive!

Also we used the paint genie ( http://www.thepaintgenie.com ) on Anna's GLI once, they did damn good work for pretty cheap; if you are looking to save a few bucks and get the work done 99% perfect this is def the place to go (although I had trouble finding problems with anything I saw there, they work on a ton of porsches).

Well...

Hopkins auto body said they would only do what the insurance adjuster quoted if they accepted the check. As in that's what they have to do per law or something. He did tell me to try depositing the check and seeing what happens? LOL.... no.

LaMettry's said they would work on it no problem and work with me. But he quoted me $1100 to paint a bumper, trunk lid and the outsides of my evo viii spoiler. That SORT of seems steep because that was without feathering my quarter panels, plus he wanted to paint my bumper beam? Not sure what that was all about.

A place that Hughes' suggested said they wouldn't touch my car because it's not German and "they only specialize in german paint".

So I'm not sure where to go from here, right now it's looking like using LaMettry's is my only option. Other than trying to call capital one and seeing what they say but something tells me they'll just laugh at me. Anyone got any other ideas?
