I need the sensor that reports to the ECU. It's for my Colt but I'm pretty sure they're all the same.

Needed ASAP, trying to sell the Stealth and I need a 2nd car to drive. I tried the parts store and the one they list doesn't plug in. I'm not into custom wiring the damn thing unless I have no other choice.

OK, just for my peace of mind, can you describe it? The one off the car has a plastic plug/shroud around 2 narrow connectors. The one the parts store and mitsu have for my car has 2 wider prongs about the width of fuse connectors.

only difference is that the one I have has white plastic not black

Perfect, that's exactly the one I need. Why the heck do Mitsu and all the parts stores think I'm insane and try to sell me a different one?

just take it off and goto autozone. I've gotten one there before, I swear it was like $3.

It's the one that reports to the ECU, my logger reads between -15 and 8 degrees coolant temp right now. It goes into the top of the thermostat housing on a Colt.

I took it to Advance Auto Parts and the guy couldn't find it. He checked every sensor for every make and model Dodge/Mitsu/Eagle that ever came with a 4G61 or 63 motor. The one he sold me screws in, so technically it's the right sensor, but it doesn't have that plastic plug on it, and in no way shape or form plugs in.

on my laser, the small one on the t housing is for the guage, big one with 2 large perpendicular blades is ecu, and the one in the pic above goes in the rad to switch the fans on. i go to advance auto, and i had to explain the exact location of the sensor on the rad and what it looked like for them to find it in the comp. they didnt even know there was one there. odd.

On the Colt there are 2 on the thermostat housing, one top (the large one) and one bottom. The radiator cap is on the radiator. I was told the large one on top of the t stat housing went to the ECU. I will unplug it and check the logger to verify.
