Well I know alot of us have removed our front ones for big front mounts but what about the rear? On my car I did a bunch of weight savings up front, including removing the bumper for my front mount, but none in the back. I need to try and keep an equal weight distribution or remove even more from the rear since my car is FWD. I just removed mine today and made a nice little bracket to hold the bottom of the bumper cover. I'm just curious to how many of you removed you'rs or didn't and why? I know there is a bit of a safety hazard but it's the same with the front..

I'm thinking about replacing my front one with an aluminum beam from a buick lesabre. The rear one I couldn't care less about though. How do you mount the bumper cover then?

The rear cover is not attached to the crash beam on 1G's (exept for the bottom)

It just bolts to the body. The bottom of the cover holds it's shape with no support.

I'll post a pic of how I mounted the bottom of the bumper. It was actually really easy, I just went to Fleet Farm and picked up a 90 degree piece of metal. I was just curious cause you never hear of anyone removing the rear one.
